This is a rare and seldom seen piece of C.F Martin history. Structure - frets good, neck good (has been reset historically sometime), overall structurally in very good condition with no issues We have refurbished and setup this guitar to our usual high standard.Ĭosmetics - some weathering to nitro lacquer which mainly looks cool and couple of refinished dings to the binding, overall very good as described in photo's.
Okay she's toured lightly and has the expected signs of honourable use shown in photo's - for the age she's in fine fettle. In fact it must be said that if I didn't own another of these myself this would not be available for sale! We've owed, played and restored pretty much every model these guys made and this one has an exceptionally good tone with a fast attack, lots of clarity and quite some grunt and growl when needed! ∞ Plenty of room on the saddle, nut and truss rod to adjust to suit your tastes
∞ Action low, reset to Martin factory standard The list price of £160 in 1976 equates to about £1200 in todays money, as such I'd equate this to a vintage D18 and every bit as good, in fact possibly a bit better. Serial numbers start around 1000 for SBIC brass with the added Vega inside a. Martin specs, same bracings and tone woods, this is an all solid wood guitar. 1890 Vega Co., 223 Commercial St., guitars, mandolins, zithers photo 5 c. Made when C.F Martin started taking out the European factories in the 1970's.
